Surround Professional 2003 - The VenueThe Beverly
Hilton hotel is the location for Surround 2003. It was
built in 1955 by Conrad Hilton, former husband of Zsa Zsa
Gabor. It is now owned by Merv Griffin, the former talk-show
host and singer, who has also produced such popular TV
shows as 'Jeopardy' and 'Wheel of Fortune'.
Set in nine acres in the heart of Beverly Hills - within
walking distance of Rodeo Drive and Century City - and
only minutes
from Hollywood, downtown Los Angeles, and the beach communities,
the Beverly Hilton plays host to The Golden Globe Awards,
The Oscar Award Nominee Luncheon and The American Film
Institute dinner. |

| The folks from
Digidesign seem to have more than their fair share of boxes
to deal with. Question: do hotels that host shows like
Surround 2003 have a room dedicated to storing all of those
empty boxes? |

| Jeff
Talmadge, DVD Product Manager for Denon USA gets to grips
with calibrating
his demo system. The system will consist of Denon's top
of the line DVD players and receivers and and M&K speakers
and subwoofers. Jeff told me that Dweezil Zappa will be
using the Denon room to preview the latest of his remixes
of his father, Frank Zappa's, albums.
